Salvation

  • Gospel of Jesus Christ presents how we can have a personal relationship with God and know that we are on our way to heaven. Simply stated, the Gospel teaches that:  Sin, the barrier that separates man from God, is the experience of all people.  “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  Romans 3:23
  • Man is not able, even by good works, to remove his sin and establish a right relationship with God.  “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.”  Ephesians 2:8-9
  • The good news (gospel) is that God provided a way for our sin to be forgiven and for us to have a right relationship with Him.  “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  Romans 5:8
  • The death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for a right relationship with Him.  “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  John 14:6
  • The provision is to be received as a free gift, because the Lord Jesus has paid the price of our sin.  “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 6:23
  • “But as many as received Him [Jesus Christ], to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”  John 1:12
