Ordinance Sunday Celebrated

On Sunday, January 29, 2012 we had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate both of the church ordinances, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper! Alexis Derbe has accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and took that first step of obedience through believer’s baptism. Many of her family were on hand to celebrate this special event in her life. The Word of God is clear that baptism does not save us, but it is the first step of obedience once a person becomes a believer by placing their faith in Christ for salvation. Alexis was able to identify with her savior in His death, burial, and resurrection. This can only be done through baptism by immersion. We also had the opportunity to remember the sacrifice that Christ made on our behalf through the Lord’s Supper. We had a wonderful time of fellowship after the service. We rejoice with Alexis and look forward to seeing how God continues to work in her life! We praise the Lord for all those who were able to attend to make this a very special evening.
