  • Virgil has been more mobile lately and has had less arthritic pain. Both Virgil and Dolores are scheduled for cataract surgery in the near future.

  • Lori is having difficulty with her eyes. Pray for wisdom by the Drs. Regarding cataract surgery due to her age and extreme near sightedness. Pray too regarding finances for this need.

Norman and Susan Smith family (www.smithlife.net) ABWE

  • Church planters in Japan seeking to build relationships with people
  • The annual PRAISE service in Aira was a blessing!
  • The third fall retreat is being planned.
  • A small property in MinamiAso for a coffee shop and event site has been purchased. A Bible study will be held there. Pray for this long-awaited out-reach project!

Mike and Peggy Carr

  • Missionary Builders with CBM.

Dennis and Peggy Robinson,

  • CBM, Missionary Builders
  • They are building in the UP of MI!
  • Pray that their son will return to living a life that pleases God.

Ed and Cheryl Bunt

  • CBM Church Planters, Chatsworth, Illinois
  • VBS had to be rescheduled to this fall. Pray that this may end up being a very good thing!
  • Cheryl’s brother-in-law was recently diagnosed with cancer. Pray for continued progress toward remission.

  • Pray for the Warner family as they balance family and ministry. The children are 6, 3, and 4, and Mom is homeschooling.

Nicole Carr

  • Serving with Baptist Mid-Missions in Romania.
  • With the start of school, the missionaries expect a better attendance at Church – less work outside of the village these months.
  • Praise the Lord that Camp went very well.
  • Pray for Nicole as she helps the youth learn to read.
  • Pray that she can use her nursing skills to the best advantage.

  • Furlough is scheduled for December this year through August of next year.

  • Molly needs a kidney transplant.
  • Pray for the team that is currently serving in India!

  • Campus Ministries at ISU in Ames
  • Pray for the numerous Bible studies.
  • Praise the Lord for new internationals coming to Church as recommended by those already involved in Campus Ministry.
  • Several leaders graduated, so this year is a rebuild of students who are willing to get involved in the outreach to Internationals.

  • Continue to pray for the every-day difficulties in the life of a translator there in Chad.
  • Pray that the translation groups can effectively use software now available to improve and speed up getting rid of inconsistencies!
  • Technology is remarkably aiding in translation work, but only 5% of Chadians use the Internet, so this is a real hurdle for the groups working on the various languages.
  • Persecution for Christians who do not want anything to do with pagan initiations rites is real and scary. Pray for Christian young people being faced with this!

Rhonda Green RN     

  • Micronesian Medical Missions, Baptist Mid-Missions, Guam
  • Thank God the typhoon missed a main hit on the Island, but pray for ministry teams from the Church and Institute as they try to help those who were affected by the terrible storm.

Pat and Wendy Campbell

  • Baptist Mid-Missions, Missionaries to Peru
  • Pray for Pat and Wendy as they teach daily classes.

  • Persecution of Christians continues to increase in this part of India!

Mark and Leslie Boyd and Family

  • Church planting missionaries to Germany
  • Mark is teaching New Testament survey in the Institute.
  • The rezoning papers for the Church property have been a bit of a trial. Pray for a smooth transition.
  • The Evangelistic Bus is to be in front of City Hall Sept. 24-26. Pray that this is a successful outreach for the new Church.

The Snells

  • Baptist Mid-Missions to Germany.
  • The Bus outreach will test the Snell’s progress in the language. Pray for their tongues to speak well.
  • Luke is back on the basketball team. Pray for opportunities to witness.

  • Baptist Mid-Missions, in Brazil
  • Pray for Gabriel, a young Indian teen, who shows signs of being a future leader in the village ministry. Pray that he will not drift in his walk with the Lord.

David and Patti West

  • Gospel Mission of S.A
  • Of most concern to the family is son, Mike’s, need for a National Identity Card. As they await it, they have been hosting the Mission House, polishing their language skills, and helping prepare the camp facilities/school campus.

Mark and Jennifer Tylavsky

  • Church Planters with CBM in MD near Washington, D.C.
  • They still need to find a renter for their house here in IA.

Joy Akkermann

  • Baptist Mid-Missions transitioning to the jungles of Peru
  • Craft workshops have had quite an impact as an outreach ministry. There have been salvation decisions and baptisms! Thank God for His faithfulness!
  • Three years in Peru already! Furlough time – Oct. 3 to April. Joy will speak at Guthrie Center Baptist Church – November 11!

The Campbell Family (www.campbellfamily.com)

  • Church planting in Murdo, SD
  • Kids’ Club is growing. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is growing and well-accepted. Pray for the outreach ministries that the Campbells are attempting.
  • The family is also delivering Meals on Wheels around town. They can give tracts and encourage folk in this manner.
  • The homeschool year is underway.

Mark, Anahi, and Sophia Self                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

  • Church planters/Serving in Argentina.
  • The year-old Church has more than doubled in size. New attenders continue to come. Recently, one couple recently returning from a decade in Chile sought out the Church seeking sound doctrine!
  • Six students are finishing out the Greek class. For Greek II, all students need a laptop. Pray that people will donate old ones that can handle a Bible software program so that students can take the class even if they do not have their own computer!

Rick and Elaine Fessel

  • Assisting the German Missionaries in Eichstatt, Germany (BMM)
  • Pray for the Bible Study with the refugees in Neuburg.

Ben and Katie Wooster

  • CBM Builders.
  • Their new address is 1397 155th, Fort Scott, KS 66701. All three walls are up on the addition to the parsonage there! Interesting letter – read in on the bulletin board in the hallway.

The Hemsworth Family

  • On deputation to serve at Missionary Acres with Baptist Mid-Missions.
  • Pray that the last $1300 or monthly support arrived soon – also the amount needed for outfit and passage. The need for the Hemsworths to arrive is pressing, so pray that the Lord prompts the financial support to come SOON!

The Barry Farlow family

  • His leg has healed; Barry is back to teaching at the Seminary. Pray that with low enrollment, that the Semester will go well. Pray for a higher enrollment starting in March!
  • The publishing house is still struggling. Things have been reorganized, but the next few months must be navigated through.
  • A new Church plant is under consideration. Pray for wisdom as a location is chosen.
  • Pray for a full recovery for Ellen. She had a problem with her face/facial nerves/jaw/ear on the trip back to Brazil. Praise the Lord that it was neither a stroke or Bell’s Palsy.

 

 

LET’S PRAY, GIVE, AND GO TO OUR NEIGHBORS AND CO-WORKERS! IF WE ARE ALL FAITHFUL IN OUR TASK, THE JOB WILL GET DONE! Pray for FBBC and Seminary students. Pray for Pastor Capon, State GARBC Rep., the online Bible study for kids at www.iToadU.com ; Shepherd’s College; Alpha Women’s Center; our KJAN Radio Broadcast and our website: www.fbcbrayton.org ; Baptist Children’s Home Ministries; and Memorial Christian Hospital in Bangladesh. Pray for Israel/the Jews. Pray that we will reach those who need the Lord in our own neighborhoods. Pray that boys and girls in this area can/ Project Days! will attend Patch Clubs and Sunday School and Church. Pray for and attend Women’s Bible Study and WMF
