COVID-19 Plan for Re-Opening and Resuming Services: Phase 1

On June 7th, 2020, First Baptist Church will start Phase 1 of reopening our church.

We understand that everyone has a different attitude and response to this pandemic. Even though we are slowly going back to holding services, some may not be comfortable in returning for fear of catching COVID-19. Regardless of where any single person stands on this pandemic, we respect your decision regarding attending. If you would like to wear a mask or face covering you are welcome to do so, however, it is not necessary in order to attend.

As part of Phase 1 reopening, the church will only have a morning worship service that will start at 10:30 am. All other ministries will not resume in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. Sunday live streams on Facebook will continue for the time being. Like and follow our Facebook page to receive announcements and to get notified of live stream events. (https://www.facebook.com/Brayton.FirstBaptistChurch)

If you are planning to attend our services in person, we would ask that you follow the below Phase 1 guidelines:

  1. Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the 10:30 am service.
  2. Please use the entrance located on the east side of the building. An usher will be there to open the door for you so you do not have to touch the door handles. There will also be hand sanitizer available in the foyer if you would like to sanitize your hands upon entering the building. We request that all church attenders head to our auditorium upon entering the building. Restrooms will be available.
  3. To comply with social distancing guidelines, every other pew will be taped off and we ask that families sit together. If sharing a pew with others, please keep 6 feet apart.
  4. The morning service will start at 10:30 am and will be concluded by 11:30 am.
  5. For those wishing to financially support the church by giving, an offering plate will be placed at the back of the auditorium. Online giving will continue to be available on our website: fbcbrayton.org/giving/.
  6. Although we encourage the entire community to attend our services, we would ask that everyone use wisdom in deciding when to attend.  For the health and safety of everyone, if you or someone in your family has had any illness in the last 24 hours (such as fever, sore throat, bad cough, vomiting, diarrhea, or a general sense of not feeling well), we ask that you stay home and listen to our Facebook live stream.

We would like everyone to understand that these guidelines are only Phase 1 of re-opening the church. As time goes on, we will have more information on future phases that will relate to our other ministries and procedures. Please join us in praying that God will allow us to resume more ministries safely in the near future.
